Details:

  • Topical Legal & Investment Update for Trustees: An update on current legal and regulatory changes that impact pension fund investment and governance for schemes. With the new government in place, what are the likely key implications coming from the pension schemes bill and government agenda for growth?  What is the latest on the DC decumulation and Small pots? How should schemes be preparing for Dashboards? What is the latest on the DB funding Code and guidance issued by TPR?
  • Geopolitics and Macro Update (including impact on Climate Transition or Not!) & Implications for Strategic Asset Allocation: With increased geopolitical tensions, many elections around the world completed and still more to come, what does this mean for the UK and global  economy? In particular, geopolitics may have a far reaching impact on whether we achieve climate transition or perhaps prolong the timeframes towards transition. What happens if the world moves to no transition? What are the key risks to schemes that you need to take into consideration? What does this mean for asset classes, the macro environment, interest rates and inflation and your strategic asset allocation?
  • Climate Change – Implications for Asset/Liability Assumptions: Will climate change mean changes to mortality assumptions? How should schemes be considering climate change in their overall asset allocation strategy? How does this link into TCFD and TNFD reporting and scheme funding? How do you consider the impact of climate change on sponsor covenant and an integrated funding strategy?
  • Keynote Presentation: Personal reflections on Key Pensions Policy and Challenges Ahead for Trustees- David Fairs, Partner, LCP, and former Executive Director for Regulatory Policy, Analysis and Advice at the Pension Regulator
  • Illiquid Assets – What should Schemes be doing? Just what should DB and DC schemes be doing with their illiquid and private markets allocations? Where are the risks and opportunities? With the new government focused on encouraging both LGPS and Corporate pension funds into private markets, what are the implications? What governance challenges does investing in private markets bring?
