What role should pension funds’ credit investments play in shaping the country’s future economic recovery and help ‘build back better’? Many pension schemes already have exposures to credit both public and private and what returns are they likely to expect going forward? Where do you find the best opportunities from the different spectrum of credit available in corporate bond, direct lending and areas such as infrastructure and real estate debt and what risk do you run?  With a potential bubble in credit markets, are we likely to see a credit crunch anytime soon and if so how should schemes prepare? Our speakers will explore these questions and address some of the issues below:

  • How have credit markets fared in the past year given the Covid-19 crisis?
  • Where are the Opportunities for investing in credit today?
  • What role should credit play in portfolio, particularly for pension schemes looking at income as part of a CDI or LDI strategy?
  • When considering lending capital to companies how should we consider the ESG element of credit investing if we are aiming to ‘build back better’?
  • Has Covid-19 coupled with ESG trends, created the impetus for new markets in credit investing such as Social Bonds?
  • Just what are the key issues schemes need to consider today within their credit portfolios?
