Chairperson:

Details:

Holding fixed income assets traditionally has been seen to provide diversification benefits at times of equity volatility. While many DC schemes remain invested with an equity allocation bias, given the current macro environment and with potentially rising rates and inflation, what role should bond/fixed income play for DC pension Scheme? Our panel of speakers discussed:

  • Low Interest Rate/ High Inflation Rate implications for fixed income?
  • Can Fixed income provide diversification and/or returns needed going forward?
  • Alternatives to fixed income and how they could be adopted for defaults funds and into decumulation?
  • To and through retirement portfolios – can fixed income assets play a more effective role?
