Chairperson:

Wendy Davis, Head of Group Pensions, J. Sainsbury plc and a Member of the MPPF Advisory Committee

Details:

With the recent joint guidance issued by FCA and TPR on what Trustees, schemes and employers should or should not be doing when providing financial support to their members, what does this mean in practice?

Our speakers covered:

  • Is the guidance from FCA/TPR clear now on what Trustees should or should not be doing?
  • How best can the availability of Education and ‘Advice’ be built into any holistic engagement strategy?
  • What role should and could trustees and employers play to ensure members utilise guidance and/or advice services they require cost effectively?
  • Who should pay for the advice and will members look to their schemes to provide better advice?
  • What practical steps do schemes need to take to ensure that they comply with best practice, their own rules and any legal requirements?
  • Should Robo Advice play a bigger role within pension funds?
