Geopolitical Risks and Challenges/Outlook for Emerging Markets

Date:

11 December 2018 15:30 to 20:00

Venue:

Het Slot Zeist, Zinzendorflaan 1, 3703 CE Zeist, Netherlands

Chairperson:

Bernard Walschots, Chairman of the Executive Board, Rabobank Pensioensfonds

Details:

With 2018 being a volatile year so far across many emerging markets (both equities and fixed income) and with heightened geopolitical risks on the horizon such as BREXIT, US Mid Term Elections, trade wars, Saudi/Turkey relations and China, just what should pension funds do to ensure they have a robust portfolio what can deliver returns they need? In particular, we focus on the inherent risks in emerging markets today and how can you plan to mitigate these?

Our speakers reviewed emerging markets and consider key risks (including ESG risks), challenges such as governance, costs and transparency and opportunities as pension fund boards look to decide on whether to increase or decrease their exposures to emerging markets either strategically and/or tactically?
