The financial crises over the last few years have highlighted that traditional approaches to asset allocation, and in particular the usual risk and diversification approaches, do not work in times of crisis. Our Speakers looked at some alternative approaches that pension schemes might wish to consider to build a more robust asset allocation policy suitable for the long term but able to better withstand short term pressures.
