Purpose
of Forum
The purpose of The Southern Africa Pension Fund Investment Forum is to improve the quality of information available to pension fund managers leading to the development of more efficient management, improved scheme performance and a better understanding of International best practice relating to all types of Pension Fund Arrangements. Timing
Divisional meetings take place in January, May and October. Additional meetings include an International Seminar in September. The regular meetings start with coffee from 09.30, Presentations from 10.00 to 12.45 which will include time for discussion. Drinks and a sit-down lunch will follow and finish by 14.30. |

Venues
Meetings will be held in prestigious venues in or around the Sandton area of Johannesburg or in Cape Town.
Advisory
Committee
The Forum is advised by an Advisory Committee comprising only pension fund representatives. Current members are: Jonathan Mort, 10 X Umbrella Funds; Ephraim Letebele, Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund; Tiny Kgatlwane, Debswana Pension Fund; Prabir Badal, COSATU; John Oliphant, Government Employees Pension Fund; Neville Field, Government Institutions Pension Fund (Namibia); Les Rencontre, Retirement-On-Line Pension & Provident Funds
and Wanjiru Kirima, Shell Southern Africa Pension Fund.

Membership
Category I: Open to representatives of Southern African Pension Funds. Members include pension fund representatives from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe as well as from multinational companies. Category III: Open to any charity, foundation, other non-commercial organisation whose investment objectives are similar in nature to a pension fund, regulator or supervisory body. Other Categories: Open to a limited number of other representatives from the pension investment management and advisory industries. Membership is open to a limited number of pension fund third party Administrators, Actuaries, Consultants, Solicitors, Accountants, Independent Trustees, Investment Managers, Financial Advisers including Property Advisers, Pooled Fund Operators, Insurance Companies, Stockbrokers and Custodians. |
