Purpose
of Forum
The purpose of The Pension Trustees Circle is to improve the quality
of information available to pension fund trustees leading to the development
of more effective trusteeship, improved scheme performance and a better
understanding of the risks and responsibilities involved in the trusteeship
of Occupational Pension Schemes whether Defined Benefit or Money Purchase

Timing and CPD
The Circle holds two main residential meetings each year, usually,
in January and July. The seminars start late afternoon of the first
day, finishing late on the following afternoon with overnight accommodation
provided. Additional meetings include a special session before the
Annual NAPF Conference (May), an International Seminar (September)
and an Open Forum/Reception at Christmas.
Both main meetings each earn 9.0 hours PMI Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit while the
annual NAPF and Open Forum Seminars each earn 2.5 hours credit.

Venues
The main meetings are held at prestigious hotels in locations within
easy reach of London. |
|
Membership
Category I: Open to experienced trustees and quasi-trustees of corporate
and local authority pension funds. Although no charge is currently
made for membership, representatives should aim to attend half of
all meetings held by the Circle.
Other Categories : Open to a limited number of other representatives
from the pension investment management and advisory industries. Membership
is open to a limited number of Accountants, Actuaries, third party
Administrators, Consultants, Custodians, Financial Advisers, Independent
Trustees, Insurance Companies, Investment Managers, Pooled Fund Operators,
Property Advisers, Solicitors and Stockbrokers. |

Committee
The Forum is advised by an Advisory Committee comprising of trustee
representatives of major UK pension schemes: Alan Herbert, Box Clever; Peter Murray, Railway Pension Trustee Company;
Stuart Condie, BAA Limited; Eric Stobart, Lloyds TSB Group; Jonathan Lord, Hewlett Packard Limited;

The Forum is run by an Executive, which consists of Trevor Cook and
Fred Jaffe (Directors), and Nevill Brooke (Senior Executive). |
