Chairman, SAUL Trustee Company
Dennis was born and educated in Sydney, Australia and came to the University of London in 1976 via St Catharine's College, Cambridge where he was a resident Fellow from 1971. From 1976 to 1992 he taught organic chemistry at Queen Mary College, University of London. He was Director of Student Services for the University of London from 1992 to 2005 when he took early retirement to allow more time for his various pension activities.
In 1999 Dennis was appointed as an employer-nominated director of the Superannuation Arrangements of the University of London (SAUL) and in June 2002 was appointed Chairman of SAUL and its Investment Committee. In 2013 he was appointed Chairman of the Trustees of the British Horseracing Authority Pension Scheme.
Dennis was a member of the Department of Work and Pensions Trustee Panel from 2005 until 2015 and was the DWP Trustee Panel representative on the DWP Deregulatory Review. In 2006/07 he chaired the joint working group of PMI and PRAG members responsible for the seventh edition of Pensions Terminology, a revised and updated Glossary for Pension Schemes. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Pensions Trustee Circle. (06.19)
